Montauk, Long Island. “The End.” Kaitlin & Nick were wed in the Hamptons and ventured out to Camp Hero for portraits and their Montauk wedding celebration. As far as Montauk wedding venues go, it’s truly tough to beat anything involved with cliffs. It was a pretty surreal experience shooting photos in fog this dense and felt more like we were in the hills of Scotland instead of on the east end of Long Island. As much as you plan you just never know what you’ll get for weather and even though it could seem detrimental, it’s often times the worst weather that makes for the most compelling wedding photos.
Right after their Hamptons wedding ceremony and a few miles out as we drove down the one lane highway, the fog thickened to where you couldn’t see more than 20 feet in front of you. We parked the car and Kaitlin & Nick immediately asked me if I thought it was even worth shooting here due to the near-zero visibility. It wasn’t even a question in my mind so we headed straight for the cliffs. You know, as you do when you can’t see that far infront of you.
