Of all the Long Island wedding venues, the George Weir Barn on the north shore of the island is one of my all-time favorites. The New York barn venue gives all of the great vibes usually reserved solely for upstate weddings in the Hudson Valley and Catskill regions. It’s just so accessible with plenty of land to adventure around and explore. Susan & Jeff’s Long Island wedding hit the sweet spot in terms of keeping things small and intimate with that big property feel.
Any time I’ve shot at the George Weir Barn, it’s been a full outdoor wedding celebration but with the threat of an oncoming thunderstorm, their ceremony was moved inside of the barn. Usually the backup plan for a ceremony location leaves something to be desired, but with the way they styled the interior, it almost stole the show. From the hanging bistro lights to the natural light pouring in through the cracks and crevices of the barn to the tight seating arrangement, this was one of the most intimate marriage ceremonies I’ve witnessed. With no need for microphones or speakers, it was as if each guest was a crucial part of it. Take a look at their wedding story as we adventured around the north shore of Long Island.
