Obviously, no one dreams of having a rainy wedding day but given that Mother Nature doesn’t plan around weddings, they’re inevitable. The good news is that it can make for a beautifully, moody backdrop. Especially when you are perched atop a mountain at one of the dreamiest Catskills wedding venues.
Adriann & John were faced with the tough decision of moving their ceremony indoors or taking a chance with the outdoor ceremony they planned all along. If there is one lesson to be learned here, it’s to take the risk, especially when your backdrop is this good. The lack of chairs and abundance of umbrellas made for a much different ceremony feel than usual and it just added to the magic of the day.
I love when the surroundings of a wedding plays it’s own part as another character in the story. The towering trees and foggy environment brought it’s own variety of intimacy to their wedding and it’s one of my favorite types of weather to shoot in. The soft light truly brings out the richness in textures and colors. If this were a clear, blue sky day, things would look and feel drastically different. And that’s what makes embracing the weather so special. This is your unique day with it’s own unique quirks. Let it happen.
