Buttermilk Falls Inn Wedding - Hudson Valley Wedding Photographer

WEDDING INFO
Rainy, overcast days seemed to be the theme of the year this past summer and Meg & Christian’s Buttermilk Falls Inn wedding was no different. Thankfully, the other theme of the year was couples not letting the weather bring them down because as a photographer, this is the kind of light you dream of. We were given soft, beautiful light all day long which made shooting in any location we wanted incredible. Colors are rich, tones are soft and the heat stays away. Hopefully for any future brides and grooms reading this, let this be some peace of mind.
Meg & Christian were faced with a big day-of decision, though and they handled it like champs (with some not-so-subtle nudging from yours truly). Due to rain earlier in the day and the chance of more in the afternoon when their ceremony was to be held, their setup was being moved under a tent. If there is one thing I know when couples visit a venue, especially one as breathtaking as theirs in the Hudson Valley, a tented ceremony is not exactly what you picture. It boiled down to one simple question. Would they be more upset if they didn’t used a tent and it rained during the ceremony, or if they moved the location and it didn’t rain. Thinking about it like that, their decision was easy and I was so excited for them that it paid off in a big way. No rain and an epic spot to say their “I do’s.”
